Nichia wins product award at LpS for Dynasolis™
Jury at LED Professional Symposium (LpS) recognizes value of the LED tuning solution for regulating circadian rhythms in Human Centric Lighting
Tokushima, Japan – 10 January 2023: Nichia, the world's largest LED manufacturer and inventor of the high-brightness blue and white LEDs, has been awarded for its LED tuning solution Dynasolis™ with the LpS Digital Awards 2022 in the product category. The product award 2022 follows the 2021 award for the best lecture which explained the technology behind Nichia’s Circadian Tune solution. The renowned LED Professional Symposium (LpS) summit was held digitally for the third time due to the pandemic.

The circadian tune technology Dynasolis™, is a tunable LED pairing developed to enhance the regulation of your body clock by combining both the stimulation and calming doses, in addition to color tuning. Compared to most existing human-centric lighting systems it doesn’t purely rely on changing CCT (correlated color temperature). Instead, Nichia’s Dynasolis™ also addresses efficacy, color quality and increased Melanopsin Stimulation, the light that explicitly targets melanopsin-containing neurons in the retina of the eye. These neurons, called Intrinsically Photosensitive Retinal Ganglion Cells (ipRGCs), are connected to brain region that regulates the circadian cycle, along with associated reflexive neuronal and hormonal responses to the presence of light.
In its official statement the LpS jury said: “The connection between health and light is increasingly recognized in greater depth and will become even more significant in the future. The Dynasolis™ innovation is an entirely new LED tuning solution that regulates circadian rhythms by adjusting melanopic illuminance and color temperature while maintaining high CRI and efficacy. It is the combination of the energizing azure (sky blue) and a peaceful, calming warm white hue focusing on the non-visual element that truly addresses HCL. Applications range from medical, office, education and even residential.”
